Preparations that had to be made. She came to him and asked, Lord, don't you care that my sister has left me to do all the work by myself?

Speaker A:

Tell her to help me. Martha, the Lord answered, you are worried and upset about many things, but only one thing is needed. Mary has chosen what is better, and it will not be taken away from her. Luke 10 38 42 there are important things that need to be done in life. But in our rush to do all those important things, we often forget to do the most important things. That was the case at the home of Martha. Yes, there were a lot of important chores to be done, but in her quest to do all those important things.

Speaker B:

Martha lost sight of the thing that.

Speaker A:

Was more important than all of them answer the following questions and be honest. Only you and the Lord know how you answer, and only you and the Lord will know if you're telling the truth. Here goes. Number one, which bothers you more? A worship service that lasts 15 minutes longer than usual or a ball game that lasts 15 minutes longer than usual? Number two, which bothers you more, missing your daily Bible reading or missing your favorite tv show? Number three, which bothers you more, being late to church or being late to work? Number four, which bothers you more, a scratch on your new car or a soul lost in hell? Number five, which bothers you more when someone uses profanity or when someone mispronounces your name? Sometimes our priorities are not what they ought to be. There are important things that need to be done in life, and rightly so. And there are important things to think about and important things that demand our attention, to be sure. But in our rush to do all the important things in life, let's not forget to pay attention to the most important thing of all, which is our relationship with the Lord Jesus Christ.

Episode Notes

Luke 10:38-42 New International Version (NIV)

As Jesus and his disciples were on their way, he came to a village where a woman named Martha opened her home to him. She had a sister called Mary, who sat at the Lord’s feet listening to what he said. But Martha was distracted by all the preparations that had to be made. She came to him and asked, “Lord, don’t you care that my sister has left me to do the work by myself? Tell her to help me!”

“Martha, Martha,” the Lord answered, “you are worried and upset about many things, but few things are needed—or indeed only one. Mary has chosen what is better, and it will not be taken away from her.”
