Find Us Faithful

Speaker A:

A righteous man will be remembered forever. Psalm 112 six a woman once told me that she wanted to be nice to people in her old age so they would say nice things about her when she died. I wanted to tell her that being nice in those last few days of her life would not make people forget how cranky and obnoxious she had been all the years before that. What would you like people to remember about you after you die? What we do in life can echo in eternity. Christians should hope to be remembered for a godly lifestyle and faithfulness to the Lord and his word. As the psalm says, the righteous will be remembered forever. The words of John Moore express our prayer and desire quite well, he wrote, may all who come behind us find us faithful. May the fire of our devotion light their way. May the footprints that we leave lead them to believe and the lives we live inspire them to obey. O may all who come behind us find us faithful. It should be the desire of every believer to hear the words well done, good and faithful servant spoken by both the Lord and by those with whom the believer has made his dwelling during his journey on earth. It is never too late to start living the kind of life the Lord has called us to live, and the sooner the better. Because none of us knows exactly the number of days laid out for us. Lets give ourselves every chance to live a life that honors the Lord, draws others closer to him, and makes people remember us well.
