You.

Speaker B:

If you had responded to my rebuke, I would have poured out my heart to you and made my thoughts known to you. Proverbs 123 have you ever had a problem for which there seemed to be no easy solution? Have you ever had to make a decision and weren't sure what to do? As Christians, solving problems in our lives and making decisions shouldn't simply be based on what we want, what makes us happy, or what we think is best for us. As Christians, we should always make decisions and find solutions to our problems based on what God wants and desires for us. The problem is, we aren't always sure what God's will is. Perhaps you've heard someone say, I wish God would speak louder about this so I'd know what he wants me to do. I always wonder why it is that we so often are so unsure of God's will. In a rather lengthy section of proverbs, one God addresses the reason we often fail to know his will and fail to hear clearly his voice when we seek his counsel. To paraphrase, he says, you, don't listen to what I say, and when I speak to you, you often ignore my counsel. Since they hated knowledge and chose not to fear the Lord and would not accept my advice and spurned my rebuke, they will eat the fruit of their ways and be filled with the fruit of their schemes. Verses 29 through 30 if you had responded to my rebuke, he said, I would have poured out my heart to you and made known my thoughts to you. I think it's possible that we don't hear God's voice more clearly simply because we aren't really listening. For him to speak when faced with a problem or a decision is our first thought. What does the Bible have to say about this? Do we even really look at the scriptures, or do we just seek the advice of our peers who, quite frankly, are no wiser than we are, or who may not even be Christians themselves? How are we going to arrive at godly solutions and answers if we're searching in ungodly places? God wants to make his will known to us in every situation in our lives. His word is full of his counsel and the promises that go along with it, heeding it, and he will joyfully pour out his heart and make known to us his thoughts if we take the time to listen.
