Weatherman

Transcript
We also thank God continually because when you received the word of God which you heard from us, you accepted it not as the word of man, but as it actually is the word of God which is at work in you who believe. The weatherman on tv predicts hot days in the week to come. I think that's just his personal opinion though, and I don't agree. Oh sure, he went to college to learn all about the weather and how to predict what the weather will be like. But the weather is for everyone and I think we all have the right to predict it any way we think is best for us. Besides, theres more than one way to view the weather you know. Why should I assume that the weathermens prediction is closer to the truth than mine? Honestly, I dont know why the weathermen has to be so controversial. People dont want to listen to forecasts that offend them. They dont want to change their plans just because the weatherman gives his opinion of what the weather will be. No I dont agree with my weatherman and if he continues to give this kind of forecast, I will seriously have to consider turning to another channel. If you truly believe that I truly believe what I just said, you would conclude that I was a lunatic. I am not a weatherman. Oh sure, ive had experience with weather, but I have only a limited knowledge of clouds and winds and other things that make up the weather. Nobody in his or her right mind would take my word over that of a trained meteorologist. Why then do so many people completely blow off what the Bible says just because they think that much of what they read in the Bible is just the personal opinion of guys like the apostle Paul or Peter or James. There are even some people who believe that the only words in the Bible that really count are the red ones. The words that Christ Jesus said. Listen, the words of the apostles and the other inspired writers are the words of God. We must never be tempted to think that what we find written in the scriptures by these men, either in part or in whole, is merely the word and opinions of men rather than the word of God. The Old and New Testaments alike, written by those who were chosen and called by God, are the words of God himself. No matter what color those words are in our Bibles as his ambassadors, the words of these inspired writers are the words of God himself. So if you disagree with what you read in the Bible, you are disagreeing with God, not with men.
