Speaker A:

You.

Speaker B:

In your anger, do not sin. Do not let the sun go down while you are still angry, and do not give the devil a foothold. Ephesians five, verses 26 and 27 married couples are often warned not to go to bed angry, but that's good advice for anyone, really. Anger is like a cancer. It will eat you up and eventually destroy you unless you get it under troll. The devil works more evil through an angry person than one who is cool, calm, and collected. When Leonardo da Vinci was working on his painting the Last Supper, he became angry with a certain man. Losing his temper, he lashed out at the man with bitter words and threats. When he returned to his painting, da Vinci attempted to work on the face of Jesus but was unable to do so. He was so upset that he couldn't compose himself enough for the painstaking work. Da Vinci put down his brushes and sought out the man that he had berated earlier that day. When he found him, the great artist begged the man to forgive him. The man accepted da Vinci's apology, and the painter was able to return to his studio to finish the face of Jesus. James writes that a man's anger does not bring about the righteous life that God desires. Losing our temper is bad for our health, bad for our relationships, and bad for our reputation. For this reason, James also writes, everyone should be quick to listen, slow to speak, and slow to become angry. James 119 don't let anger get the better of you and turn you into a monster you don't really want to be. You are better than that, and the people around you deserve the better you.
